 King of the Dead

This story comes after the death of Osiris and Iris's journey.  King Osiris had been slain and Set wanted to put his nephew Horus to death. King of the Dead is about Horus's defeat of set and his father coming back to life.

  • As set continued to rule over Egypt, he persecuted followers of Osiris and Isis
  • Horus became a strong warrior
  • After a dream about his father's ghost appearing and urging him to overthrow Set. Horus gathered his army for battle
  • Many days of battle had passed. Horus lost an eye and Set was severely injured
  • The god Thoth descended from the heavens and healed both Horus and Set
  • The divine council established that Horus is the rightful king
  • Fragments of Osiris were recovered in the Nile
  • Goddesses Iris and Nepthys lamented 
  • Ra heard the cried of the goddesses and sent Anubis to help place the pieces of Osiris back together. 
  • The pieces were wrapped in linen bandages
  • Osiris was brought back and became judge and king of the dead
